Re: Acquisition of SceneSafe Ltd by WA Products (UK) Limited

As a valued customer of WA Products, I wanted to share some very exciting news with you.

On 20 May 2013, WA Products (UK) Limited announced that it will be acquiring SceneSafe Ltd from its current owners, Forensic Archive Limited (FAL). For some time now we are aware that many customers were concerned as to what the future may hold for SceneSafe, especially since the regrettable closure of its former parent, the Forensic Science Service (FSS). This acquisition will have a positive impact on both entities and most importantly to you, our customer. A full press release regarding this transaction will be issued shortly and will be available on both WA’s and SceneSafe’s websites.

SceneSafe will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of WA Products (UK) Limited, although it will be relocating shortly to WA’s purpose built warehousing and laboratory facilities in Essex.

Over the years, both WA’s and SceneSafe’s development and launch of innovative products has been driven forwards by technical and financial challenges faced within our wider customer base, and we are committed to growing our business by continuing to deliver industry-leading solutions for our customers.

SceneSafe and WA Products share a common capability and a mutual passion to develop best-in-class, evidence collection kits and forensic consumables that customers purchase by choice rather than necessity. WA views this acquisition as a key component in the execution of its strategy to strengthen its position in this very specialised marketplace by providing a complementary portfolio of products that enable easy and reliable collection, stabilisation, transportation and storage of forensic exhibit samples.

It is quite likely that many of you will have supply accounts with both WA Products and SceneSafe and your normal point of contact within WA will be contacting you shortly to discuss how this partnership affects your purchasing decisions. Clearly there are potential administrative cost savings available to you by placing one order rather than two, and our team will be very happy to work with you to ensure we achieve the most appropriate solution that works for you.
